Congratulations to Liza Campoamor of Pleasantville, New York, for winning the 2009 photo contest! New this year, the contest took place online, with public voting among 10 finalists selected by Bike New York Staff from nearly 300 entries. Thanks to all who participated. While many entries reflected the day's rainy conditions, the winning image (above) shows bikes warm and dry. Liza Campoamor of Pleasantville, New York, snapped this view on the 5:45 a.m. Metro-North train. It won 34% of the vote. The voting was tight, with the first runner-up garnering 32% of the vote. Tom Cho's "Puddle reflection" leaves no question as to what kind of day we had for the Tour.
Anais Chapman's atmospheric shot of Grand Central Terminal is the second runner-up, with 12% of the vote. Only trains and bicycles were up and out this early in the day. The margin between second and third runners up was just 1%. Chris Balioni caught this well-prepared but nonetheless wet young rider hoping for "Sun pwease!"
2008 Winners

Entries in the 2008 contest came from across the United States and overseas and reflected the many views of New York that riders see. Bike New York staff chose one winner and two honorable mentions from more than 80 submissions, and we thank everyone who participated.

2007 Winners

Like the Tour itself, the 2007 photo contest received a record number of entrants--more than 100. The following four images were chosen by Bike New York's staff as the winners. Fittingly, New Yorkers took the majority of the honors, but top billing went to a Virginian. Many thanks to all who participated.
